Angela is a Chartered Director (SA) and is the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA). She originally joined the IoDSA in 2004 to formalise and grow the organisation’s director education focus. She has previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer having been promoted to the role in 2008, was appointed as an executive director in 2009 and then as CEO in 2014. She has been involved in the field of director education for 18 years, has been in an executive leadership role within the professional body landscape for 14 of those years and was recognised with the Executive Director of the Year 2018 award at the Association of Association Executives World Congress in Belgium.
Angela and has been at the forefront of the South African corporate governance journey as she participated in the release of King III and led the IoDSA as CEO at the time of the drafting and launch of King IV™. In addition to her executive role, Angela served on a variety of board sub committees.
She is the former Chair of the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI) and now works actively with the international forum in support of its Secretariat. She has also served on the Council of the International Integrated Reporting Council and as the Deputy Chair of the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN). Angela is the Independent Chair of the Nominations Committee for the Water Research Institute South Africa.
She is a founder and director of Professional Service Hub (Pty) Limited – YourHub, an organisation established to offer leadership and management support services in the professional body, association and small business landscape and helped form and is currently the Chair of the Independent Professional Body Forum (IPBF).
On the fun side, Angela is mad about dogs, loves both the sea and the bushveld and is a MotoGP fanatic #33 #BradBinder.
